Tork Motors, a Pune-based electric vehicle manufacturer, has set up its first electric vehicle charging station in India, reported Financial Express. The charging station is located at Cafe Peter’s Bund Garden Road outlet in Pune.
Capability of charging up to a 100V battery
According to Financial Express, the company aims to set up more of such charging stations, starting with Maharashtra and then move to other regions. The new electric vehicle charger has got a secure connector that will help provide a fast charging option too. They have the capability of charging up to a 100V battery. In the coming days, the company will also add a plethora of chargers that will cater to almost every EV available in the market.
Kapil Shelke, founder and CEO of Tork Motors told Financial Express that with the launch of our first EV charging station, they seek to drive the adoption of e-vehicles and especially electric motorcycles in India.
He further stated that they are excited to unveil the first public fast-charging station in our home city of Pune and consider it to be a step towards creating an easy to discover and accessible Tork charging network, reflecting the company’s vision. This move is also in line with our growth plans of offering a holistic and hassle-free experience to the consumer.
Tork Motors is also set to launch its much-awaited e-bike T6X. The e-bike is built on the sturdy yet light-weight trellis frame, which incorporates its battery pack, among other electronics. It is also expected to have telescopic front forks and a mono-shock at the rear.
In April this year, the company formally launched its Mission Electric programme, wherein it plans to add 10,000 electric vehicles, a majority being e-rickshaws, to its platform in 12 months. The Bangalore-based company plans to have one million electric vehicles on its platform by 2021 and has carmaker Mahindra & Mahindra as a partner for electric four-wheelers.
