Super Plastronics Private Ltd will decide on the green-field manufacturing facility, post February this year.
Super Plastronics Private Ltd (SPPL), a manufacturer of TV sets and electronics, and a brand licensee of Kodak and Thomson, is exploring the possibility of setting up a manufacturing facility in south. The company sees Telangana as a potential location for its green-filed unit.
SPPL CEO Avneet Singh Marwah informed Telangana Today that currently SPPL has manufacturing facilities in Noida, Una (Himachal Pradesh) and Jammu. He further said that the company is awaiting a consistent policy from the central government in the TV segment.
Marwah is hopeful that the Finance Minister will come out with an industry-friendly policy for manufacturing for he strongly believes that once there is a clear policy, the organisation will decide on the green-field manufacturing facility, post February this year.
The reason Marwah stated behind selecting Telangana was the state being on SPPL’s radar as the region has been growing consistently year-on-year. He said that Hyderabad has been contributing around 4 per cent to national sales and this year and so SPPL expects that the city will contribute 8 per cent in 2019.
SPPL is planning to roll out 8-9 new products in 2019 across categories primarily focusing on 4K and Smart TV. Innovation is going to be seen in all the upcoming products which could be category and segment first.
