ASUS is aiming to gain shares in the gaming devices market of India with its all-new ranges – ASUS gaming laptops, desktop and now the ROG phone
After launching two gaming laptops and desktops, ASUS is set to make its ROG Phone debut in the gaming devices market in India. The new ROG or Republic of Gamers phone with features such as a 3D vapor chamber design and overlocked Snapdragon 845 SoC is aimed at the gaming community of the country.
It is likely to partner with the e-commerce platform, Flipkart to sell the new gaming phone at around Rs. 73,000 that excludes the price of accessories.
Features
The ROG phone has gamer-focused features to attract the mobile gaming crowd. Its 3D vapor chamber keeps temperatures under control for sustained gaming. It has 8 GB of RAM and up to 512 of internal storage capacity, 4,000 mAh battery, and 2 USB Type-C ports round off the specs. ASUS also has come up with a range of accessories such as the TwinView Dock or Mobile Desktop Dock.
It boasts of the GameCool vapor-chamber cooling system with detachable AeroActive Cooler for an extra cooling boost that can sustain high frame rates in the heat of a game. Its four-speed fan system can cool the surface of the phone by up to 4.7°C. The phone features a 6-inch AMOLED panel with a 90 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms response time that blends blazing speed with gorgeous visuals. The ROG has side-mounted ports and game controls that include programmable ultrasonic AirTriggers and advanced haptics for a better focus on the game.
Stereo sound
ROG Phone delivers an immersive audio, with ultra-powerful front-facing stereo speakers driven by smart amplifiers that maximise volume and minimise distortion. The 24-bit/192KHz audio engine supports Hi-Res Audio files. On using the speakers or headphones, the DTS:X Ultra 1.0 delivers 3D audio rendering for any kind of games or virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR). It features 7.1-channel surround-sound with an enhanced bass response.
ASUS’ ROG phone is set to compete mainly with Razer Phone 2 and Xiaomi’s Black Shark 2.
