After providing biometric fingerprint sensors to Google for its smartphone ranges, Fingerprint Cards eyes to foray into India’s smartphone sales network
Swedish biometrics company, Fingerprint Cards has signed an agreement with Excelpoint Systems, Asia Pacific region’s leading electronic components distributor to build its brand image and expand its business in India. It will also extend its support to pave ways to build up its network for smartphone sales in India.
Excelpoint Systems
Singapore-based Excelpoint Systems has a global presence across 10 countries and 40 cities in India. It has a staff strength of over 700 located in its Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, New Delhi and Pune offices.
Fingerprint’s India focus
Ted Hansson, Senior Vice President, Business Line Mobile, Fingerprint Cards has expressed the company’s interest in India’s biometrics and smartphones distribution network. He said that the firm wanted to venture into the extensive relations and customer base of Excelpoint and further strengthen its own portfolio. Fingerprint has collaborated with around 15 distributors across Asia.
Fingerprint launches
Fingerprint Cards recently provided biometric fingerprint sensors to Google for three of its smartphone ranges – Pixel Slate has FPC1145 and Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL come with FPC1075 sensors respectively. Its business has been gradually increasing and catering to smartphone makers and other organisations for deployment of biometric systems and sensors.
