Blaupunkt officially enters the Indian LED TV market by introducing its latest models with latest technologies. Aims at a business worth Rs. 500 crores
Blaupunkt, along with its India partner, Trigur Electronics, has announced that it will be investing around $300 million in the television business in India in the next 3-5 years. The investment will be jointly made on marketing and manufacturing at Trigur’s Sonepat plant in Haryana.
The company earlier hinted at eyeing the Indian market during the IFA Berlin 2018 Trade Show in August. Andrej Cebart, Managing Director, Blaupunkt said that the two companies have a long-term agreement, the minimum being 10 years. He added that the agreement was not confined only to the Indian market but also for the neighbouring countries – Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh.
New TV models and specifications
On Tuesday, Blaupunkt launched its latest TV models that were priced between Rs. 12,999 to Rs. 47,999 ranges. The premium models offer a voice-recognition smart remote, soundbar, Wi-Fi, Miracast and AI-based hybrid launcher. The new LED TV range comprises 4K UHD Premium, Smart Sound and Family Series. These series are between 32-inch to 55-inch sizes.
The Blaupunkt 4K UHD Premium Series has the 55-inch flagship model and is reported to be India’s first voice-enabled Android open-source television. These German technology-enabled television sets will have a quality assurance mark, a blue dot.
The company aims to generate a business worth Rs. 500 crores in the next 12 months. Presently Blaupunkt TVs are available in Europe, Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Israel.
Managing Director, Blaupunkt believes that the company is geared up to enter the Indian market with its all-new range at affordable prices. He also expressed his excitement about the launch in India.
