A new electric vehicle charging station was launched at Simhadri by SSTPP.
An electric vehicle charging station was inaugurated at Simhadri on Friday. The charging station was introduced by Simhadri Super Thermal Power Station (SSTPP) of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC).
Commissioner of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) M Hari Narayanan inaugurated the first electric vehicle charging station at SSTPP in the presence of group general manager of SSTPP Arupratan Maiti, general manager (Technical Services) Saroj Chelluri, general manager (O&M) AC Sahoo other GVMC and SSTPP officials.
Hans India reported that the charging station has been designed in-house by the engineering department team of SSTPP. The charging facility has been provided with all amenities like parking bays, lighting, power supply and Wi-Fi access for automated monitoring and CCTV surveillance.
Three e-vehicles can be charged simultaneously at the facility. NTPC is committed to promoting electric vehicles and the charging station for electric vehicles is one step towards promoting and popularising the concept of e-Mobility.
