Walking on the line of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, now it is West Bengal chief minister, Mamata Banerjee who is planning to visit Europe and meet business leaders there to ask them to come and invest in automobile and manufacturing sector in the state.
Banerjee said at a felicitation programme organised by chambers of industries that she will be going to Rome in September for canonisation of Mother Teresa and there she will try to organise business meeting at a location close by. She is looking to attract investments in automobiles and manufacturing sector.
The chief minister has asked the state finance minister Amit Mitra to coordinate with the chambers and organise the meet.
The central government has also been advocating that there should be more foreign direct investments (FDIs) in the country and the West Bengal chief minister is also trying to attract investments to her state. This is her second term in the state, and she has reiterated that there is a lot of land bank in West Bengal and it is one of the best investment destinations.
She said there should be vision plan for short, mid and long term like of 10,15 and 20 years. “We should work towards that.”
