In a move that is not only innovative but also quite effective, India Post will now decided to sell subsidised LED bulbs in post offices. The initiative was started in Deogarh, Rachi, where senior India Post officials were present to inaugurate the event. India Post has signed an agreement with government’s emergency efficiency corporation for the purpose.
According to Anil Kumar, post master general of mails and business development, Jharkhand, the sale of the LED bulbs will commence from the month of June and will be available in around 200 post offices across the state. The bulbs will be priced at Rs 85.
“A person needs to bring any identity card or electricity bill to get the bulb. One person can buy a maximum of 10 LED bulbs only,” Kumar said.
India Post has plans to sell LED bulbs in all the 3,200 post offices in the state by the month of July. This initiative can go a long way in enhancing customer awareness and also help in government’s mission to use LEDs bulbs to the optimum level in order to save electricity.
