Lenovo Group, global leader in making personal computers has recently announced that it plans to invest $500 million is a technology start-up fund. The fund named Lenovo Capital and will be funded and managed by Lenovo Group is looking to invest in verticals such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence and robotics.
Till today the company has already invested close to $100 million in 30 odd companies that deal in mobile games, smart home devices, security, etc.
The company will be bringing the ZUK sub-brand in the country soon. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has sent media invites for an event scheduled for May 10, and will be launching the ZUK Z1.
The smartphone has a 5.5-inch Full HD display and comes with a body surrounded by a metal frame. There is a fingerprint scanner integrated with the home button on the front, and a USB Type-C port is there as well.
The government of India is also encouraging startups as it feels that this would in turn reflect in enhancing the country’s economy.
