Himachal Pradesh government has announced the launch of a new smartstreet lighting project called ‘RISHTA’ (Rajiv Gandhi Illuminating Scheme for Hill Town Advancement (RISHTA).
According to reports, Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh inaugurated the project in the state to provide energy saving lighting.
The Urban Development (UD) Department has associated with EESL (Energy Efficient Services Limited). The new project is a scheme, which is launched as a tribute to former PM Rajiv Gandhi on his 71st birth anniversary. The scheme named as Rajiv Gandhi Illuminating Scheme for Hill Town Advancement (RISHTA).
The new smart\street lighting scheme is a known as LED based, energy, efficient and CCMS (Centralised Control and Monitoring System) for urban local bodies.
If reports are to be believed, the scheme would become serviceable directly in Shimla, Dharamsala, Sundernagar, Paonta Sahib, Hamirpur, Ghumarwin and Manali. The rest of the places would be made functional before March 31, 2016.
With the introduction of new energy efficient smart system, the state would have advanced safety conditions for vehicular traffic and pedestrians and also it would be cost-effective, quality based and assured service to the urbanite. CCMS would execute switch off and switch on procedures and the operation and maintenance of the LEDs.
