GE’s modular LED solutions help Metrotown in British Columbia, Canada, reduce its energy load while ensuring ease of operation and convenience
Objective
Metrotown in Canada wanted to install an all-new lighting system for its Metrotower I, II and III as well as for its shopping centre. The area involved was 250,000sqm. The planners wanted an innovative and energy efficient lighting system, along with a control system to reduce wastage of energy and money.
Challenges
The towers and shopping complex cover a large area. The mechanical supervisor of Metrotown wanted to be able to control and monitor the property from one location.
Solution
GE Lighting Solutions installed its modular Light Sweep lights, which offer different, customisable features like simple switching and scheduled on/off. They can also sense the presence of people in the room.
Apart from addressing the needs of the complex’s mechanical supervisor, GE’s solution even manages the lighting load.
