April 16, 2015: Indowind Energy Ltd, which primarily focuses on wind energy, is planning to add 100MW of solar power capacity in two states, reported the Business Standard, while quoting an official.
The firm is expected to begin with a 50MW solar park in Karnataka in FY 2015 and will require around Rs 3.5 billion for the implementation of the project, said the newspaper, citing an unnamed management official.
Indowind is also planning to install a 50MW capacity solar power station in Tamil Nadu. However, the company wants some more clarity on state tariff prior moving ahead with the project. Also, grid connectivity issues in Tamil Nadu are also need to be taken care of.
Currently, the company secondarily owns a 1MW solar project in Andhra Pradesh, but is willing to have direct presence in the segment, said the official, as quoted by the paper.
