February 20, 2015: The ACME group, which is one of the largest solar players in India, has announced that it has been successful to become the largest developer for being able to secure 74MW of solar PV power projects under the Punjab State Solar PV Tender of 250MW capacities, issued by Punjab Energy Development Agency.
The PFP document reveals that the company would be signing two PPAs of 24MW and 50MW capacity, at a tariff of Rs 7.16/kWh and Rs 7.06/kWh respectively.
The project would require an estimated investment of Rs 6 billion. It is definitely expected to be worth the investment since Punjab gets 300 sunny days in a year and has an estimated potential of solar energy at 4-7kwh/sqm of solar insolation levels.
