February 16, 2015: One of the leading manufacturers of solar energy systems, Surana Solar Limited has been focusing on solar photovoltaic modules and is now planning to diversify in LED bulbs and tubes segment with an aim to tap the growing demand for LEDs in the country.
In a statement filed to BSE, Surana Solar mentioned “In view of growth potential in the field of LED, the company proposes to enter into a new line of business for manufacturing LED bulbs and LED tubes of an initial capacity of 10,00,000 units with an established entity in the market. The Board at their meeting held on February 11, 2015 approved that the company shall hold 62.50 per cent equity with an initial outlay of Rs 50 billion.”
Surana Solar Limited is a part of Surana Group which is based in Hyderabad. The company expects to achieve a turnover of over Rs 400 million in the second year from its business of LED lighting.
