January 20, 2015: Uttarakhand’s newly launched new small and medium enterprise (MSME) policy has hit an obstacle. As per the reports, the state government’s procrastinated attitude on issuing a notification in this regard has led to this hurdle.
The state cabinet had approved the draft MSME policy in November 2014. The policy had lots of incentives for developing new units that included 30 to 40 per cent capital subsidy.
According to government official the draft policy was sent to Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat for the final nod after few changes were made by the committee presided by N Ravishanker, chief secretary.
The industrialists are not able to understand that why the draft, which had been previously approved by the state government was sent to the CM, again.
As per Pankaj Gupta, president, Industries Association of Uttarakhand said that once the draft is approved by the state government, it remains unclear that why it was again sent to the chief minister for approval.
