Wednesday, December 10, 2014: Ricoh India Ltd., a major segment of Tokyo-based Ricoh Group is planning to set a manufacturing plant in India. Manoj Kumar, chief executive officer and executive vice president at Ricoh India, mentioned that the company which generated Rs.10,480 million revenue last year, might touch Rs. 15,000 million target during the current fiscal.
Kumar added, “We do have plans (for setting up plant), which we are currently evaluating. It is just a matter of time before we come out with something on manufacturing plant.” He, however, didn’t emphasise over the other details like investments and time-frame required for setting up plant. While addressing a query he noted that the company is realising 50 per cent growth on revenues for the past several years and is expected to witness the similar trend this year as well.
Ricoh India had recently got the order from Department of Post of worth Rs 13,700 million, for providing Rural ICT solution. Kumar noted that such crucial engagements and tie-ups further makes the Ricoh’s foray stronger into IT services and thus proves its ability to deliver such crucial and large scale deployment.
He further added, “Our strong capabilities in the domains of Imaging, Communication and IT Services have enabled Ricoh to emerge as a one-stop business solutions provider. IT services is one of our key growth engines which contributed to 45 per cent to our total revenue last year. In the coming years we would like to expand our business and increase its contribution to 60 per cent of our total revenue.”
