Thursday, December 4, 2014: Welspun Energy Pvt Ltd (WEPL, Mumbai, India) has invested in to the solar photovoltaic (PV) rooftop segment with the installation of three PV with collective capacity of 795KW, which can generate up to 1,174,000 kWh of solar power annually.
WEPL has developed the projects located in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. These projects were financed through 100 per cent equity infusion split in three phases including pre, mid and post construction.
The projects have been established to meet captive power needs of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur (192kWp), Ansal University (100kWp) and Medanta Medicity Hospital (500kWp). Welspun highlighted up on the increasing popularity of solar rooftop business, he added that many institutions are willing to expand their power needs through solar power.
