In September 2014, Vishay Intertechnology Inc launched a new series of high speed devices capable of 1MBd and 10MBd data rates, expanding its VOW wide body family of high isolation optocouplers. Designed to increase reliability in high voltage alternative energy and industrial applications, the VOW135, VOW136, VOW137 and VOW2611 provide a VIOTM of 8000V, VIORM of 1414V, and offer an external creepage distance of greater than 10 mm. VOW wide body optocouplers consist of a GaAIAs infrared emitting diode, optically coupled with an integrated photo detector. In addition to the increased robustness provided by their high safety isolation, the devices feature an internal Faraday shield to provide the very high input to output noise isolation required by high power switching applications. The VOW135, VOW136, VOW137 and VOW2611 are designed to isolate low to high voltage circuits in alternative energy systems such as solar inverters, and in industrial applications such as motion and motor control and in welding equipment.
