Rohm Semiconductor has established its new R&D centre in Bengaluru. The Indian branch of the company employs 35 people, among whom 25 engineers are associated with the R&D centre, which started its operations in May this year. The Bengaluru centre is set to support its global operations and research work on India specific projects.

Rolta Power Pvt Ltd

Manufactures: PV modules, solar products and provides EPC services

Rolta Power Pvt Ltd has forayed into the solar power sector. The company has installed a 60MW production line for solar photovoltaic modules in Mumbai. The plant started production in September 2014. An investment of Rs 1000 million has been made for the production line. The company is planning to expand its capacity to 300MW in the next two to three years.

Shree Sai Non Conventional Energy Pvt Ltd

Manufactures: Solar lighting products, PV modules and solar heating products

Shree Sai Non Conventional Energy Pvt Ltd has invested Rs 100 million to set up a manufacturing plant in Chakan, Maharashtra. The new plant will offer solar energy products for the different market segments like agriculture, hospitality, security and infrastructure. The product range will include water pumps for irrigation, fans, cookers, power packs to be used as power back-up sources, home lighting, water heaters, street lights, cookers and lanterns.

Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd

Manufactures: Solar modules, solar heating products

Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd has completed five solar power projects for the Chennai Silks Group. The company had already commissioned a 2MW solar power plant for the group last year, and with the addition of 5.2MW, Chennai Silks’ total solar generation capacity stands at 7.2MW. The five new projects are located in Kangeyam of Tirupur district in Tamil Nadu and were completed in just 12 weeks. Different group companies of Chennai Silks are covered by these projects. The 1MW projects have been set up for Naachas Wind Energy, Space Textiles and KTM Jewellery, while 1.1MW installations have been done for SCM International Impex and Sathy Silks, respectively.
