Friday, October 10, 2014: The Rajasthan Government, on Wednesday, announced the new “Solar Energy Policy-2014” paving its way towards the establishment of solar capacity of 25000 MW in the state. The key motive of the policy is to create a conductive environment for the investors and also to ensure continuous power supply in rural and urban area.
The policy would aim at providing energy security at the national level and would even help them in overcoming the challenges of climate change. The main provision is about establishing solar parks in state sector, private sector and by the way of Public Private Partnership. The new policy even simplified the permission, sanction on projects and the few rules.
Also, the Mega Solar Plants (500 MW) will get the fast approval of setting them before State Level Empowered Committee, lead by chief secretary. The State government has provided the the provision of Rs 1000 million in the state budget of 2014-15 for promoting power supply in remote village areas via local solar grid, solar system and smart grid system.
