Thursday, August 28, 2014: Projector market in India registered an annual shipments of 0.18 million units for the year ending June 2014. HD projectors registered more than 55 per cent market share.
Benq endured its market leadership followed by Epson and Sony. 3D enabled projectors captured around 47 per cent share of the India Projector market. The home stream segment is expected to demonstrate huge potential over the coming years as a result of increasing consumer awareness among the consumers.
The DLP based Projectors dominated the Indian Projector Market with 54 per cent market share followed by LCD Projectors. Recent switch from traditional lamp-based light sources to LED and laser technologies has helped manufacturers to offer cost efficient and better quality projectors. Further, LED projectors are expected to grow at a rapid pace due to their superior average life compared to other segments.
The demand for PICO Projectors are likely to increase significantly due to their advantages over the traditional projectors. Additionally, increasing usage of these devices across certain segments such as consumer electronics, healthcare and aerospace will further boost the growth of these projectors.
