1,000 MW solar park coming soon in Guntur

Friday, July 18, 2014: The Andhra Pradesh government has drawn up strategic plans for the setting up of a 1,000 MW solar park in Guntur.

A detailed review of the power sector is now underway at AP Genco in order to work out modalities for fresh capacity addition. Concerned authorities are also preparing a note on 24X7 power supply that is due in next ten days.

Andhra Pradesh plans to supply power 24X7 starting 2 October, 2014.

Earlier, the Government of Telangana announced its plan to set up 1,000 MW solar park in the backward district of Mahbubnagar with collaboration of SECI(Solar Energy Corporation of India).
