Monday, June 30, 2014: A MOU has been signed by Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) with IT Skills Development Society (ITSDS) under Department of IT, BT and S&T, Govt. of Karnataka, on 24th May 2014 for Skill Development Programme (SDP) in ESDM with a validity of 5 years. Govt. of Karnataka was represented by Shri S. S. Nakul, Chairman ITSDS and ESSCI was represented by Shri Pradeep Doshi, Head, ESSCI.
In the pilot phase, ESSCI will skill 1,000 candidates under STAR scheme. For this, NSDC has agreed to allocate a separate quota. List of Qualification Packs and National Occupational Standards of ESSCI shortlisted for SDP in Pilot Phase:
1. TV Repair Technician
2. DTH Set-to-box Installer and Service Technician
3. Field Technician – Air Conditioner
4. Field Technician – Washing Machine
5. Field Technician – Computing and Peripherals
6. Field Technician – Networking and Storage
