Wednesday, May 07, 2014:The Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) has inked a tripartite contract with Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research (FAIR), Germany, and Bose Institute. Prof. Oliver Kester, head of all accelerator boards, FAIR, T K Ghorui of Bose Institute and P Sudhakar, chairman and managing director of ECIL were present at the ECIL office during the signing of the contract. Prof. K. Vijayraghavan, secretary, Dept of Science and Technology, was present via the video conferencing facility and witnessed the the signing of the contract.
Other participants included senior dignitaries from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Bose Institute (BI), FAIR, Germany, Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC) and ECIL.
This is the biggest contract to be executed by ECIL for supplying electronic equipment to a foreign country. It is for manufacturing of about 600 converters is valued at 9 million Euros. According to the contract, the equipments are to be supplied over a period of four years.
