Friday, April 25, 2014: Makoto Kitai has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Mitsubishi Electric India. He succeeds Shinji Yamabe, who will now return to Japan to take up the responsibility at Global Strategic Planning & Marketing Group as General Manager, Regional Marketing Division. Kitai was earlier looking after Asia operations of Mitsubishi Electric’s global strategic planning & marketing group. He will entirely focus on India operations now.
Kitai, has been a part of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation since 1987 and has handled various roles in sales, marketing, budget control, management support and project management. “Mitsubishi Electric is committed to India and will operate here with firm determination to excel. I strongly believe that our wide range of businesses, leading-edge technologies and MEI’s effective operations, will make a positive contribution towards India’s economy and society. This contribution will surely bring MEI employees much more happiness and welfare. Meanwhile, outgoing MD, Yamabe now plans to devote himeslf to strengthen Mitsubishi Electric’s business in India from a global perspective. “I would like to devote myself to strengthen our business in India from global perspective. My principal place of business will be different from April. But, I would like to continue to help develop MEI’s business as an India supporter with the same ambition and dream as yours”. Yamabe was quoted as saying.
