Sunday, March 16, 2014: French developer EDF Energies Nouvelles has reportedly commissioned a 30MW solar power project in Khilchipur region in the central state of Madhya Pradesh, India.
The solar unit in MP is the EDF’s first solar PV installation in the country, while its has five more PV projects that are under development in Rajasthan. The projects total up to 120MW. The work on the project is led by ACME Solar Energy Private Limited.
EDF Energies Nouvelles share 25 per cent interest in ACME Solar, which is a collective venture between EDF, ACME Cleantech Solutions Ltd, Electricite de France SA (French state-run firm), and EREN (natural resources saving group).
The company got the contract via a tenders’ call by the government of India (GOI), under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission.
