Friday, February 28, 2014: RESolve Energy Consultants, a Chennai-based company, said that six companies have been granted a total of 100 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) projects via bidding in the central state of Madhya Pradesh.
Renew Solar Power (Gurgaon) will receive 30 MW of the 50 MW, which it bid for. Followed by Today Homes & Infrastructure (New Delhi) and Focal Energy (New Delhi) will receive 20 MW, each, said a SolarServer report. Today Homes has also been awarded 50 MW under Phase 2 Batch 1 of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM).
The winning bids came in at Rs 6.47 to 6.97 per KWh ($ 0.10 to 0.11), as Renew received the highest rate of Rs 6.97 per KW. The lowest bidder was Himgiri Ventures (Gwalior) at Rs 6.47 per KWh for a 5 MW solar power plant.
SunEdison (US), Azure Power (New Delhi) and Acme (Gurgaon), were among the unsuccessful bidder in Madhya Pradesh. Regardless, these companies were awarded the most projects under the JNNSM, Phase 2 of the Batch 1 auction.
