Thursday, February 20, 2014: During the bilateral meeting held at New Delhi, between the Argentinian delegation and the Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, on Wednesday; the two countries have reportedly decided to explore various loci for co-operation in the field of solar energy, wind energy and bio-fuel generation.
The Argentinian delegation was led by Antonio Bonafatti, the Governor of Santa Fe in the Rosario Province of Argentina. The 39-member Argentinian delegation is on a three-day visit to India. On the Indian front, the union minister Farooq Abdullah led the meeting. Abdullah said that India is the 5th largest wind energy producer, in the world. With the Indo-Argentinian collaboration, India will also give training to the people from Argentina in solar energy and wind energy, stated a release by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
Bonafatti said that that the co-operation between the two countries is likely to open new avenues for the export of bio-fuels to India. At the same time, Indian companies can invest in Argentina in the field of solar power and wind energy.
