Tuesday, January 07, 2014: The State Electricity Board of Thiruvanthapuram has announced the name of the prize owners who enrolled their names in the power conservation or Labh Prava campaign that was held from 23 March to 31 May, 2013.
As per the record, 4500 consumers were able to save more power. Out of the 4800, 50 would get solar inverters and 4,500 solar lamps. The board had initially planned to give 1 KW solar plant as bumper prize but it was then changed into solar inverters, owing to the delay in getting government subsidy for the solar power units.
The officials of KSEB informed that during the power saving campaign, it was observed that near about 20,000 units were saved daily, making the overall energy saving to over 12,00,000 units.
The board will also present CFL lamps to consumers whose collective efforts had helped them to claim no-loadshedding facility during the height of power constraints last summer, reported TOI.
