Friday, December 20, 2013: In order to consolidate its lighting business in India, Philips Lighting India has reportedly expanded its product portfolio and retail chain of stores. At present, it is leading the lighting market in the country with a share of over 30 per cent.
The company recently launched its LightLounge and LightStudio in Hyderabad and is now in the middle of consolidating its presence in the country. The main aim is to reach out to the consumers offering a wider range of products.
Having made an investment of $ 15 million in the Philips Lighting Innovation Centre in India, they are now capable of designing and developing products that meet specific local requirements. In the process, they have made more than 150 LED-based lighting products and solutions in the last two years. This was told by Nirupam Sahay, president, Philips Lighting India, to Business Line.
Coming to the final count, the company has 93 LightLounges in the country along with over 1,050 Light shoppes.
According to the report, the two formats, LightLounge and LightStudio, provide consumers the complete range of home decorative lighting and professional lighting solutions under one roof.
