Friday, September 13, 2013: Power solutions provider, Su-Kam is offering technology support for Rural Electrification Corporation’s solar electrical training program. Rural Electrification Corporation is a Government of India enterprise.
This training, which will be held at engineering and ITI colleges is meant for students belonging to economically backward regions of India. They will receive this training in addition to their curriculum.
According to The Times of India, the company statement pointed out that the program is supposed to be rolled out in a phased manner in different colleges in the country starting from DAV college, Mahindergarh.
Advit Foundation, not-for-profit organisation based in Gurgaon will implement the program, which will be conducted from August 2013 to December 2013.
There is demand for trained manpower in the emerging Indian solar market and this program is being started with the purpose of fulfilling this demand. It is expected to produce 200 qualified engineers and technicians, who will be equipped with the technicalities and the economics of solar photovoltaic power systems.
The course structure entails classroom training along with hands-on-solar workshops for the candidates. While equipment and devices for hands-on training is sponsored by Su-Kam, professionals, who are working in the solar industry will design and conduct sessions.
