UPS systems for data centre

In June 2013, Toshiba International Corporation launched the G9000 400V uninterrupted power system (UPS) with a capacity of 500 kVA/450 kW. The G9000 series offers online, double-conversion systems with up to 97 per cent efficiency. This is the first model in a new series of G9000s that Toshiba is bringing to international markets.

The G9000 UPS line is purpose-built for data centres and call centres. The 400V range is designed for use with 380V, 400V and 415 four-wire installations, at 50 or 60 Hz.

Using Toshiba IGBT technology in the rectifier/converter, DC/DC chopper and inverter sections, the 400V model double-conversion topology provides an AC/DC/AC efficiency of over 95 per cent at loads from 50 per cent to 100 per cent. At 25 per cent load, the efficiency remains greater than 94 per cent.

Home UPS systems

In June 2013, Arise India Ltd introduced its sine wave range of home UPS solutions, which are available in a ratings capacity of 700 VA-12 V, 900 VA-12 V and 1500 VA-24 V.

Some of the key features of the UPS range include a wide input AC window of 80 V to 300 V, which suits urban as well as rural conditions; precise and accurate I/P voltage management at UPS mode; a temperature sensor at the heat sink and a fan to control the internal temperature. If the temperature increases beyond the permissible limit of the system, the system shuts down and an audio/visual indication is displayed.
