Tuesday, May 21, 2013: Realising the importance of using clean energy, three houses in the city have set up solar plants in Gulmohar Colony, Shalimar Township and New Palasia in the city of Indore. According to Envis Technology deputy CEO Uday Bhole, who has successfully executed some domestic projects, “Though solar power plants are being used in commercial set-ups, including industries and at few public places like parks, college campus, a solar plant at home is always advantageous.”
Experts indicate that a minimum of 1500 watt panel is needed for domestic use, which can increase up to 3200 watt also if the demand is high.
Ambrish Kela, the managing director of a private firm, has set up a solar plant at his Gulmohar Colony residence. Ambrish was impressed with the idea of producing ‘clean energy’. He adds that thermal electricity and automobiles cause most of the pollution in this world. In this situation, using solar energy for domestic purpose can help us contribute to clean energy and live a green lifestyle.
Another businessman, Pranav Patel, who has also installed 10-panel solar power plant at roof top of high rise residential building in Shalimar Township with the capacity of 2250 watt electricity generation, agrees with Ambrish. The plant produces 7-8 units per day. Patel had been using solar power panels at his factory, and has now opted for the innovative and beneficial idea of using solar energy at his residence. The only flip side of setting up solar plant seems to be the exorbitant cost associated with its installation, which comes out to be around Rs 3- 3.50 lakh/solar unit.
