India is getting pretty serious about its solar power ambitions. Reportedly, Solar Energy Corporation of India has been directed by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) to invite project developers, MNRE channel partners, Technology providers, System integrators, Renewable Energy Service Companies (RESCO), EPC Contractors to participate in the Request for Selection (RFS). They have been invited for design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning including warranty, operation and maintenance for a period of 2 years of Roof Top Solar PV power system in selected Cities/States in India, reports Energetica.
Bidders have been asked to submit their proposals on or before 30 May along with all the supporting documents, which should be complete in all aspect. The proposals are to be submitted in the office of “SECI” in the prescribed format.
For the same, six cities have been selected namely, Bhubaneswar / Cuttack -1MW, Gurgaon- 1.5MW, Hyderabad- 2MW, Jaipur-31.MW, Noida/ Greater Noida-1.5MW and Raipur/ Naya Raipur-2MW.
Every project will be in the range of 100kWP to 500 kWp. However, there is a possibility that one project comprise of several rooftop units. In such cases, the minimum capacity can also be achieved by aggregating the buildings in the same campus. “Each roof top unit can separately connect with the grid and has separate meters. The bidder shall apply for a minimum capacity of 250kWp to a maximum of 2 MWp capacity. The bidder has the liberty to choose their Owner,” the report further adds.
