With a target to generate 26,000 MW by 2020, Tata Power has disclosed plans to establish a 28.8 MW solar power plant near Satara, Maharashtra this fiscal. The project will be part of the company’s strategy to have a 20-25 per cent contribution from clean power sources.
“This will be our second solar plant in Maharashtra. We will be spending over Rs 2.3 billion this fiscal for setting up the project,” PTI quoted company’s executive director (finance) S. Ramakrishnan as saying.
