The new capacity was added through the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM).\
According to a Solar Server report, RESolve Energy Consultants noted that “Rajasthan has been the go-to destination for developers interested in setting up solar PV projects under the first phase of the JNNSM accounting for about 70 per cent of the total capacity installed in the state.”
The RESolve Energy Consultants have observed that this capacity has come in three phases. The first phase was included projects added under the migration and RPSSGP program. The second phase was initiated in late 2011 and lasted till 2013 under JNNSM. The new capacity in 2013.
