Contact cleaners
In October 2011, 3M launched its Novec brand of contact cleaners/lubricants, which is designed to make the workplace safer, help firms comply with green initiatives, and cut down on mission critical electrical cleaning.
Features and USP: Novec quickly penetrates and flushes away light oils and grease from sensitive electrical and electronic equipment including avionics systems, electro-mechanical devices, electrical contacts, connectors and switches. It effectively removes fluorinated oils. It also leaves a thin protective silicone coating. Novec is compatible with plastics and other construction materials.

Water based cleaning agent
In November 2011, Zestron launched Vigon N 600, a water based cleaning agent which demonstrates excellent cleaning performance in spraying equipment and dip tank processes.
Features and USP: The Vigon N 600 pH-neutral defluxing agent is compatible with aluminum, copper, brass, nickel, polymers and barcode labels. It can be used at short contact times and low application concentrations of 15 to 20 per cent. Due to its pH-neutral formulation, Vigon N 600 is another step towards implementing an environmentally friendly cleaning process.

Adhesive roll
In September 2011, Teknek launched its adhesive roll called EcoFilm.
Features and USP: EcoFilm is the first oxydegradable clean machine adhesive roll available in the market. It retains all the benefits of the Teknek Nanocleen+ adhesive roll (silicon-free, static dissipation, extra wide format, slant cut, etc) plus the added advantage of being ‘green’. EcoFilm complies with ASTM D 6954-04 standards.

Lead free solder paste
Nihon Superior launched lead free solder paste, SN99CN P502 D4.
Features and USP: The paste has an excellent reflow and wetting on all common substrates including nickel and brass. It has a reflow peak temperature of approximately 240°C. The addition of silver (Ag) has been done for strength and stable intermetallic.

Freezer and air duster
Electrolube added two new products—FREH freezer, a powerful refrigerant, and the EADH air duster to its product range which have been developed without the use of harmful gases.
Features and USPs: Both products contain a novel hydrofluorocarbon propellant with improved environmental properties. The propellant used in the FREH and EADH can reduce the equivalent CO2 emissions by 99.5 per cent. FREH Freezer is a non-flammable, non-corrosive refrigerant used as a safe and quick way of cooling small electronic and electrical components, lowering temperatures to at least -50 °C in just seconds. The product has also been developed to detect faulty soldered joints and overheating parts, and with its added extension tube, it aids easy access to difficult to reach areas. The EADH air duster helps to remove all dust and airborne contamination from fragile or inaccessible areas on electrical and electronic equipment.
