Solar power generation requires various modes of operation. One such avenue is solar park. And speaking of such parks, company called Raasi Green Earth Energy Private Ltd (RGEE) is reportedly setting up its solar park in Tamil Nadu.
According to a Business Line report, the company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) for setting up the solar park, which is expected to start the construction process, once the land is acquired.
The solar park being set up with an investment of Rs 9.2 billion is located at Paramakudi in Ramanathapuram district in TN. “We have already acquired 200 acres of land in this regard while 600 acres more will be acquired by the end of February,” C Narasimhan, chairman, RGEE was quoted as saying in the report.
According to the report, there is a possibility that the solar park could be in place by May, as the company has joined hands with Larsen and Tubro, Enerpark, Canadian Solar and Sgurr to develop the park through a joint venture agreement.
The park will have a semi plug and play facility for investors, who would be interested in setting up their own power plants, the report added. Similar solar parks have also been positioned in Gujarat, Rajasthan in India.
