DeitY constitutes innovation council on nanoelectronics

DeitY has constituted an innovation Council on Nanoelectronics. The scope of the council includes the entire electronics systems hardware infrastructure enabled by nanoelectronics technology. In addition to the above, the focus is also on integrated circuit chips, packaging and electronics systems.

In December 2012, the council submitted a report, including action points for promoting innovation in the area of nanoelectronics. Some of the action points recommended by the council include the creation of advanced research and development centres in nanoelectronics, such as the Centres of Excellence in Nanoelectronics (CENs) at IITB and IISc, and funding projects in areas of national interest in academic institutions and in industry.
