Tata Power Solar is looking to add 96 MW of solar cell capacity for rapid ramp up next year. The company has also retained its position as of one of the largest solar cell and modules manufacturing facility in the country. The company has been in place since 1989.
The company has its unit in Bengaluru, which produces solar cells. It also has 125 MW of module and 84 MW of active cell manufacturing capacity. Additionally, Tata Power Solar has been growing rapidly in its projects and systems business with the launch of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM).
The company also provides world-class EPC services to solar power project developers, customised solar solutions to large industrial customers and low-cost products and systems for rural and residential market through its dealer network.
Moving forward, Tata Power Solar plans to aggressively invest in new product development to expand its product portfolio and facilitate entry into new markets. “With growing awareness of the importance of solar energy among investors and consumers, we believe India is likely to become one of the largest markets for solar energy in the world.” said Ajay Goel, CEO, Tata Power Solar.
