CUI’s new board-mount DC-DC converters have an internally-potted and encapsulated design, allowing increased system reliability through added protection from environmental factors such as dust, moisture, and shock and vibration.
Offered in rugged aluminium package, the devices can reach efficiency levels up to 93 per cent, making them suitable for use in industrial, automation, transport, security, and telecom equipment where energy consumption is a concern. The 50W VQE series and the 100W VHE series are offered in industry standard quarter- brick and half-brick footprints respectively. The modules offer an ultra-wide 4:1 input range of 9VDC to 36VDC or 18VDC to 75VDC, making them ideal for equipment where a widely fluctuating voltage must be precisely regulated.
The VQE and VHE series feature output voltage options of 3.3, 5, 12, 15, 24 or 48VDC and an operating temperature range of -40C to 60C at full load, derating to 50 per cent load at 85C. Apart from that, protections for over voltage, over-current, short-circuit and over-temperature are also included. Further, all models provide remote on/off control, remote sense, and carry CE and UL/cUL 60950-1 safety certifications.
