Minister of Environment and Energy of the German Federal State of Hesse, Ms. Lucia Puttrich along with 14 member delegation accompanied by Consulate General of Federal Republic of Germany, Mr. Rainer Schemiedchen and Shri S.P.Gonchaudhuri, Advisor to the State Government on Renewable Energy visited Heritage Group of Institutions today to inaugurate 100 kw Photovoltaic Solar Power Plant at The Heritage campus.
The 100 KW Roof-top Photovoltaic Solar Power Plant had been installed under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) project. Ms. Puttrich was well received by Prof. B.B.Paira, Director, Heritage Institute of Technology, Mr. Pradip Agarwal, CEO, Heritage Group of Institutions and Ms. Meenakshi Atal, Vice-principal, The Heritage School, students, faculty and other staff members.
The 100 KW Solar Power plant, first of its kind in Eastern India had been installed by Vikram Solar Pvt. Ltd and during the visit, Mr. Manoj Sharma, Director, Vikram Solar Private ltd, General Manager of Vikram Solar, Mr. Sammujjal Ganguly and his team members were also present. “India with advanced technology will soon implement solar power projects to a greater extent. Now it is very costly but soon after technological advancement, it will become feasible to implement the same,” said Ms. Puttrich during her interaction with the dignitaries. “It is the first largest plant installed in an educational institution,” remarked Shri S.P.Gonchaudhuri.
Ms. Puttrich was quiet delighted interacting with 19 student member team from Sophie School Gesamtschule, Wennigsen, Germany who were in the campus under the exchange programme with The Heritage School, now a PASCH school and the only recipient of BOSCH Foundation Grant in India during the last year for a research project on Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development.
