Danfoss Industries, a leader in mechanical and electronics components and solutions, has started its new filter drier factory in Chennai. The factory comprises an area spanning 929.030 sq m and is considered to be the largest filter drier facility in the country. Danfoss has invested more than Rs 170 million in the facility, creating 60 new jobs with a capacity of approximately 2 million pieces per year. Larsen & Toubro has inaugurated a manufacturing facility for switchgear products in Vadodara. This is a capacity expansion initiative for its electrical and automation (E&A) wing, which will manufacture air circuit breakers (ACBs) and moulded case circuit breakers (MCCBs). Along with this, a development centre to provide research, development and engineering support for circuit breakers will also come up. Midal Cables Ltd, a Bahrain based company has submitted a proposal to set up an aluminium conductor and rod manufacturing unit at Angul with an investment of Rs 2500-3000 million. A special purpose vehicle (SPV) called Angul Aluminium Park Pvt Ltd (AAPPL) is to formed by Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation of Odisha (Idco) and Navratna firm National Alunminium Company (Nalco). Midal Cables has sought 30-40 acres of land within this park.
