Combining eSIM technology to enable efficient connectivity across industries, Kigen and Nordic Semiconductor have joined hands to accelerate Massive IoT deployments.
UK-based Kigen and Norway’s Nordic Semiconductor have announced a strategic partnership to accelerate the growth of Massive IoT deployments. It is set to provide a seamless, secure, low-power connectivity solution that will facilitate the rapid scaling of IoT networks.
This collaboration combines Kigen’s eSIM technology, including its eSIM IoT Remote Manager (eIM) solution for SGP.32 IoT eSIMs, with Nordic’s nRF9151 System-in-Package (SiP), and emphasises the importance of their joint efforts in overcoming technical challenges related to wireless connectivity.
According to the companies, the deal is designed to provide efficient, scalable IoT solutions that address the increasing demand for connectivity across various industries.
Kigen’s CEO, Vincent Korstanje, highlighted that this partnership aligns with the company’s vision to make transformative IoT technology accessible, cost-effective, and scalable for businesses of all sizes.
Nordic Semiconductor’s EVP of Business Unit Long-Range, Oyvind Birkenes, stressed that the collaboration goes beyond a technical milestone. He stated that the combination of technologies has the potential to revolutionise the cellular IoT space.
The companies have successfully completed testing of the eIM platform and eSIM technology on the nRF9151. This sets the stage for further trials and the potential for commercial deployments in early 2025. Both Kigen’s eIM solution and Nordic’s nRF9151 are already available for use.
However, no financial information involving the collaboration has been disclosed.
