KeenSemi Partners With VLSI Expert To Upskill Engineers

Boosting India’s tech ecosystem, KeenSemi partners with VLSI Expert to address the semiconductor talent shortage, offering intensive training for engineers.

Semiconductor designer KeenSemi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with VLSI Expert, a training institute in the field to address the gap in skilled technical talent in the semiconductor industry.

According to the company, with global demand soaring for advanced technologies in AI, IoT, and high-performance computing, the need for specialised professionals has never been greater.

Addressing this, the partnership aims to provide aspiring engineers with intensive training in critical areas such as ASIC design, equipping them with the skills needed for the semiconductor industry.

Furthermore, KeenSemi seeks to create a pipeline of skilled professionals, ensuring a steady flow of talent that will support the company’s growth and contribute to the broader development of India’s semiconductor sector.

As countries, including India, focus on developing local semiconductor ecosystems, the demand for skilled engineers has outpaced supply, exacerbating the talent shortage. “This shortage is particularly acute in areas like physical design, physical verification and reliability, design-for-test, advanced node implementation methodologies, and post-tape out bring-up,” noted Mr Pankaj Panjwani, the CEO and founder of KeenSemi.

Optimistic with the collaboration, Panjwani commented, “Our multi-pronged approach ensures that we remain competitive while expanding capabilities to meet the demands of both domestic and international markets.”

However, he did not disclose any financial transactions involved in this collaboration.

KeenSemi is developing India’s first ARM Neoverse-based high-performance compute solution, ‘Aum,’ positioning India among a select few nations with such technology. The company focuses on upskilling its workforce, with leadership mentoring engineers and partnering with institutes to train junior talent.

Using advanced electronic design automation tools, KeenSemi enhances chip design processes, enabling engineers of all levels to contribute effectively.
