Fueling eco-friendly transport solutions, Anant Badjatya takes the helm as CEO of Indofast Swap Energy, driving India’s battery-swapping revolution with SUN Mobility and IOCL.
SUN Mobility and IOCL appointed Anant Badjatya as the CEO of their new joint venture, Indofast Swap Energy Private Limited, last week. Badjatya has previously served as CEO of SUN Mobility from 2022 to 2024. This appointment follows an agreement between IOCL and SUN Mobility in June 2024 to create one of India’s robust battery-swapping networks by 2030.
With over 20 years of experience in the energy and automotive industries, Badjatya will oversee Indofast Energy’s initiative and lead the development of the battery-swapping project infrastructure.
The venture aims to leverage IndianOil’s extensive network of more than 37,000 fuel stations in India, combined with SUN Mobility’s battery-swapping technology. Indofast Swap Energy plans to implement a battery-as-a-service model, providing affordable solutions for two- and three-wheeler owners and addressing concerns over range and lengthy charging times.
Speaking on his new role, Badjatya stated, “We would like to be synonymous with India’s mobility revolution and a household name for 2 and 3-wheeler customers. Our offering of innovative technology with extensive infrastructure is unparalleled and underscores our resolve to provide a practical, accessible, and eco-friendly solution to all.”
After starting his career as a software engineer, Badjatya served in critical marketing and business management leadership roles in companies such as AMDS, ArcelorMittal, and Stallion Group before joining SUN Mobility.
