EVage’s breakthrough battery technology charges in 20 minutes and lasts up to 12 years, revolutionising the EV industry. Paired with DG Innovate’s motor, this technology enables EVage’s trucks to charge rapidly and run with peak efficiency.
EVage, a pioneering commercial electric vehicle manufacturer headquartered in Chandigarh, is positioning itself as a major player in the Indian EV market by employing a vertically integrated technology approach. The company has recently embarked on a significant joint venture with DG Innovate, a motor manufacturing company in the UK founded by former Tesla executive Peter Bardenfleth-Hansen. This collaboration aims to produce the world’s most efficient electric motor, achieving an impressive efficiency of 98.5%.
Inderveer Singh, the Founder and CEO of EVage, emphasises that the partnership with DG Innovate transcends mere motor production; it is about spearheading the global electric vehicle revolution from India. Singh envisions leveraging their comprehensive technology stack and scalable production capabilities to impact the global market significantly.
At the heart of their innovative collaboration is EVage’s unique concept in India—an EV technology stack that dramatically reduces the cost, space, and manpower typically required for vehicle production. Singh highlights the company’s autonomy over its technology stack, including in-house developed battery technology, Battery Management System (BMS), Vehicle Control Unit (VCU), and infotainment system. This autonomy allows EVage to produce an e-truck every 15 minutes.
The company’s proprietary battery technology, which can be charged in just 20 minutes and boasts a lifespan of up to 12 years, is transforming the EV industry. When paired with DG Innovate’s motor, it ensures that EVage’s trucks are not only rapidly chargeable but also highly efficient.
Singh further details the advanced efficiency of their motors, noting a 98.5% efficiency rate, which is superior to Tesla’s motors at around 96%. This technological edge makes EVage’s trucks an attractive option for logistics operators who prioritize minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
EVage is also revolutionising production with its micro-factory concept and Industry 5.0-enabled facilities, which can currently output approximately 2,000 vehicles annually. With the new motor technology from DG Innovate, they anticipate a significant production boost to meet the increasing demand for efficient electric trucks in Asia.
In positioning India at the forefront of the global EV manufacturing scene, the partnership between EVage and DG Innovate is seen as a progressive step. Singh asserts that their efforts are not merely about truck production but are foundational for India’s ascent as a leader in global EV production and export.
Looking forward, EVage plans to expand its market presence to the top 100 cities in India and explore export opportunities internationally. The partnership with DG Innovate, renowned for its cutting-edge EV technologies, underscores EVage’s commitment to leveraging advanced technology to scale up production and solidify its status as a leader in the rapidly evolving global EV landscape.
