STPI celebrated its thirty-third Foundation Day and made major announcements as it continues to support tech innovation in India.
Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) signed two MoUs with DBS Bank and Sabudh Foundation for strengthening the tech startup ecosystem in India and skill development respectively. It also launched two web-portals for startup networking and affordable incubation space at its thirty-third Foundation Day.
The collaboration between Sabudh Foundation and STPI will push skill-development initiatives and nurture the entrepreneurial training ecosystem in DeepTech for engineering graduates. DBS Bank India’s partnership with STPINext aims to strengthen the tech startup ecosystem in India. Details of the partnership are yet to be confirmed.
STPI launched a networking and resource discovery platform,SayujNet and STPI Workspace portal. In addition to the MoUs, Director General Arvind Kumar announced a new platform, Ananta in collaboration with Yotta under a PPP (public-private-partnership) model, to provide essential cloud solutions, such as IAAS, PAAS, SAAS, and GPU-based services, to startups and small IT industries developing deep tech products.
Kumar emphasised the expansion of STPI’s presence to 65 centres nationwide, with 57 located in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, reflecting the organisation’s mandate to promote IT and IT-enabled services (IT-ITeS) industries beyond major urban centres. This expansion has generated significant employment and revenue, facilitating the migration of BPOs to smaller cities.
Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), S. Krishnan lauded STPI’s efforts in boosting tech innovation and talent in Tier2 and Tier 3 cities and highlighted the importance of networking and digital connectivity in achieving these goals.
The event featured expert panels discussing ‘Brand Bharat: Harnessing the Power of IT/ITES for AI and Deep Tech’ and ‘Brand Bharat: Accelerating Design and Development of Electronic Products in India.’ These discussions stressed on the need for IT/ITES for technological advancements and innovation.
