The design challenge encouraged members to create a robotics movement project with a specially provided challenger kit.
Eelement14 has initiated a stimulating “Shift It! – Warehouse Automation Challenge.” This competition is designed to propel advancements in warehouse automation by engaging the ingenuity of engineers and designers. Fifteen talented participants will be selected to develop projects that enhance the automation processes within a warehouse environment.
Each participant will be equipped with a set of TE Connectors and Arduino Uno Robotics Shields, tools that are essential for crafting their robotic movement projects. The challenge stipulates that participants incorporate at least four TE Connectivity products into their projects, ensuring the integration of these high-quality components.
The scope of the challenge is broad, inviting creativity and innovation. Participants may choose to design a variety of automation solutions, such as automated inventory management systems, movement facilitation systems, safety enhancements for warehouse workers, automated timesheet systems, or electronic stock tracking solutions.
Prospective participants have until 19 June to submit their applications. Those selected will be required to document their journey, updating the element14 community through a minimum of five blog posts. These updates should detail their progress and showcase their final projects by the deadline on 28 August. The challenge boasts enticing prizes, including an Apple iPad Pro 11-inch, an iRobot Roomba with a self-emptying feature, and an iPad Mini 10.9 inch. Additionally, every contestant who meets the completion criteria of the project and blog documentation will receive a MultiComp Pro Multimeter Set.
Judges will favor entries that demonstrate innovative uses of the TE components and effective implementation of movement in their designs. The inclusion of photos, videos, and code samples in the blog updates will enhance participants’ chances of winning. Winners of the challenge will be announced in September 2024. Applications will remain open until 19 June, giving potential challengers ample time to enter this exciting competition.
