Eicher Trucks and Buses, an essential part of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), has established a vital alliance with ITC Limited to foster green and sustainable logistics solutions for mid-mile transport at various ITC locations across India.
This partnership is a significant move towards environmental sustainability, as ITC plans to incrementally deploy over 100 units of the Eicher Pro 2055 EV. This deployment represents the first introduction of 5.5-tonne electric vehicles in India, aimed at improving mid-mile logistics from ITC’s storage facilities to their clients’ premises. The project commenced in December 2023 and focuses on major cities such as Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, and Ahmedabad, highlighting Eicher’s and ITC’s joint efforts to reduce ecological footprints and contribute to India’s ‘Net Zero’ emission goals.
Vinod Aggarwal, Managing Director and CEO of VECV shared his excitement about this collaboration, indicating it as a major achievement for VECV that resonates with their goal to bring innovative, efficient, and productive solutions to the logistics industry.
The Eicher Pro 2055 EV aims to transform the logistics industry as the pioneer 5.5-tonne electric truck in India, featuring complete container solutions and both fast and slow charging options to cater to a variety of operational needs. The vehicle’s service package is meticulously designed to address challenges such as charging infrastructure, operational requirements, charge times, battery longevity, and fleet energy management. Additionally, it will be equipped with Eicher’s advanced telematics system and supported by My Eicher services, promising superior performance and dependability.
